Counter Height Bar Stools are Great for Easy Clean Up

The number one thing on our list was to purchase a few bar stools when we bought our new house. We had finally gotten the nice big kitchen with the big breakfast counter that we always wanted. Counter height bar stools would be such a nice addition to the kitchen counter.

We had three children at the time who were 2, 4, and 7. This took a lot of time at mealtimes. We had to set the table before meals, clean the table after meals, and then try to get all the crumbs from the chairs and cracks. Even after that, we had to carry all of the cups and dishes over to the kitchen sink. This was for every meal the kids had. It wasn't very much fun and it took a lot of time away from family after dinner.

If my children could eat right at the kitchen counter for some meals, this would make those meals so much easier and faster. This would be a nice break from all of the clean up. I decided to start shopping for a few kitchen counter stools. There were plenty out there, but none within my budget. It was tight due to the recent move.

I wanted at least 3 stools and I wasn't interested in spending $75+ per stool. Also what I learned was that there are many, many styles of stools out there. Some are wood, some metal, some have backs, some don't, some are short, some are extra tall. There are some with cushioned seats and others with footrests. Some that swivel and tempting as that would be to a child I thought it would end up with disastrous results.

The measurements for your new counter stools are very important. Measuring is the most important step. You don't want the stools to be too short or too tall. This would cause awkwardness when trying to eat. Get your measurements and take them with you when you shop.

I was out on a shopping trip at Walmart when I saw the perfect stools for my kitchen. I just happened to look down the furniture aisle and there they were. I never thought Walmart would have something I liked and for such a great price too. They were only $25 each which meant I was only spending $75 for my entire bar stool purchase. This was fantastic. I didn't thing Walmart would offer good quality, but I was wrong. These were wooden saddle seat stools with a cherry finish. They were very nice looking and were comfortable too.

I purchased those stools, took them home and they were perfect. They matched the decor of our kitchen and dining area. They were the right height. The kids could safely sit on them and they didn't swivel which was a very good thing!

All of our guests that came to vist made comments about those counter height bar stools. When I told them how much they cost and where I found them, they were shocked. Many of those guests made a visit to Walmart in search for those stool, but noone ever saw those exact bar stools at that price again.

I got lucky that day at Walmart. The children can eat right at the counter and the dishwasher is right there for easy clean up. It makes it much faster and easier for preparing meals and for clean up after meals too. Clean up is nothing when you don't have to dig crumbs from the cracks in the chairs and from the floor. The stools are easy to care for and easy to keep clean. This was one of the best purchases we have made for our new home.
