Step By Step Cleanup Of Your Drawer Pulls And Knobs

Ever grabbed a knob in your kitchen and thought that it was kind of sticky? Maybe your hand doesn't stick to the kitchen knobs, but it's likely that you still have dirt, grime, bacteria, and other germs hanging around on your knobs and contaminating your hands each time you make contact with them.

Occasionally, it is a good idea to thoroughly clean your kitchen knobs, as well as cabinet hardware. There are several things to keep in mind when doing so. Check out these tips below.

In conjunction with your spring cleaning, you can begin taking the knobs off the cabinets and prepare them for washing.

Using a marker, mark the spot on the cabinet where the knob will later be reattached. Be sure to write down the measurements of that area as well. When it's time to reattach the cabinet knobs, you will be able to tell which one goes wear if you mark them first.

Next comes time for cleaning. Clean the knobs thoroughly with an anti-bacterial wipe and a combination of water and soap. Be sure to thoroughly clean all parts of the knobs: the front, back, as well as the all of the parts that lead up to where the cabinet attaches to the knob. Invest some time to thoroughly clean them.

You probably need to also pay close attention to where the knobs are affixed to the cabinets. Don't forget these overlooked spots, as there can be years of accumulated dirt and grime hidden between the knobs and cabinet doors. Thoroughly cleaning this area is a good idea due to the number of germs that form and breed there.

Put the both parts back after they're clean and dry. Now that your knobs are clean and sanitary just reverse the procedure and reattach them to your cabinet doors and then stand back and admire your germ free sanitary kitchen.
