You Can Save a Lot of Money on your Home Appliance Repair Bills
Most people are able to perform basic fault troubleshooting and repairs to their home appliance with just basic skills and understanding. Everyone knows how expensive it is to call out an appliance service engineer and when it often turns out to be something very basic you still end up paying for the very expensive call out fee.
As a fully qualified electrical technician, contractor and service engineer for 30 years and more I am still summoned to assist clients with simple problems. In most cases they could have located and resolved the problems within minutes. In many cases the problems are just simple blocked filters and so on.
These days the average home has a variety of home appliances and kitchen aids. There are a large number of washing machines and washer/dryer models on the markets, which range from very basic to fully computerized units. In addition many homes also have clothes dryers and dish washers, along with electric and gas wall ovens, cooking ranges and cookers and ceramic cook tops.
The average household also will have a BBQ, some great outdoor kitchens plus many portable kitchen appliances which may include waffle machines, toasted sandwich makers, rice cookers, coffee machines. Also found in the house are high pressure washers and of course your swimming pool and spa pumps and the electrics to give it all power.
You can save hundreds of dollars! And yes I said hundreds of dollars a year just by following some basic home appliance repair advice and performing some basic maintenance.
It's never easy to attend an appliance repair callout after the client has waited a week, only to have me repair the problem in just a few minutes. In many such cases the householder could have diagnosed and repaired the problem themselves with just a small amount of basic knowledge. It is easy to be baffled by all these new fangled computerized appliances and other high tech innovations, but the majority of cases have simple problems only and require very simple actions. When diagnosing home appliance faults start off simple and look at the basics.
The purpose of my website is to help you defend yourself against the more shady appliance repair service engineers who sometimes make false claims that a particular appliance part has failed, before proceeding to run up a big repair bill. It is also a fact that some appliance repair people are relatively unqualified and not very experienced and so they keep replacing appliance parts until your machine eventually starts working, all at your expense. As you can see it is very useful to know the basics about your appliance and be able to diagnose the simple problems so they cannot snow you with lots of jargon. Remember that it is your money and just do not spend a dollar more than you need to.
I will try and teach you what to do when the washing machine and clothes dryer makes strange noises or simply stops working! What you should do when the stove hot plate stops working! What to do when your dishwasher isn't working quite right! What it means when the refrigerator is icing up, and when the air conditioner isn't making you cool. What is wrong when the ice-maker stops making ice!
WARNING Never attempt any troubleshooting or fault repairs on home appliances without turning the electrical power off and pulling the plug from the receptacle. If you are in not confident in your own abilities then please call either a qualified electrician or recommended appliance service technician.
If you wish not to to part with lot of your scarce cash on your Expensive Home Appliance Repair Bills then take a look what you can perform yourself to Save Real Money
