The Proper Way Of Using Of Stainless Steel Utensils
When compared to other materials, people often prefer stainless steel utensils and appliances for they are rugged, long lasting and durable for daily use. If cleaned and maintained well, it can look very good and if not maintained properly, then of course stains and patches can spoil the utensils. It is important for you to know how to clean these items.
Stainless steel as a material for utensils and appliances for home use has caught on due to its heat conducting properties as well as anti corrosion properties. They heat up very fast, consuming less energy and do not rust when exposed to water every day. On the flip side, they can look dirty very fast even with slight fingerprint or dirt.
If you check out the steel utensils you will see a few lines or patterns, which are basically following the grain structure of the steel coating. If you clean the vessel in the same direction of the grain structure, you will find it gets cleaned easily and shines better.
Utensils made of stainless steel are prone to showing up watermarks as well as fingerprints very easily. Watermarks leave stain on the surface. To remove them, you can clean the vessels with mild detergent and warm water and after removing all water, dry the vessel using a dry cloth to wipe it dry. Store away in a closed cabinet so that it does not accumulate dust. Before you re use the vessel, you can again wipe them with semi-wet piece of cloth to remove find dust if any.
You should always be careful to ensure that you do not scratch the steel utensil, for they can scratch easily and it not only makes the utensil look dull and old but can damage the surface of the vessel too. Therefore never use scouring pad or any hard material to wipe the steel utensil dry. Always use soft piece of cotton kitchen towel or any other fabric that is soft and also absorbs moisture and water. If after wiping a few utensils, you find the towel has gone wet, replace with a new dry towel to clean the rest.
Stainless steel utensils tend to catch watermarks and finger print marks etc very fast. They tend to spoil the look on the surface and will need to be cleaned before you re use the utensil. Cleaning these is very easy. You can either use the glass cleaner that you use at home to spray on the utensils or make a solution with half-liter water and 50 ml vinegar and use the liquid to clean the vessel. Once done, wipe the vessel dry with a piece of dry kitten towel and see the surface shining clean.
For those of you who do not have the time to make the solution at home or do not believe in home made remedies, then check out suitable products that are available in the market. You can find a lot of variety to choose from. Buy first in very small quantity and try it out before going in for bigger quantities.
Hope with these tips you will find it easier to maintain and clean your stainless steel utensils. Always remember using stainless steel utensils you save on energy, they are easy to clean, they are good to look at and long lasting too.
