How To Install A Washer Dryer Combo Machine
If you are looking to moving home, whether an apartment or house, one of the first appliances you will find yourself needing is the washer dryer combo machine. These are easy to find in most department stores but are even easier to install yourself.
A common mistake when buying a new washer dryer is to fall into the trap of buying the first one you see. Do some research beforehand, particularly online. Many people end up buying a machine that has more functions than they actually need and pay richly for it. Buying a refurbished model is a great way to get a good machine and save money. Most engineers will supply a warranty with your refurbished machine for peace of mind.
After making your purchase, you are now going to need to install it. First of all, chose a location for your machine. It needs to be in a location with two water hose connections and an outlet. This is usually the laundry room or kitchen. Place the washer dryer next to these connections. One of the hose will have a red connector or marking which should be connected to the hose on the machine with the similar red marking. This is for the hot water supply.
After this, find the hose with the blue marking and connect to the hose from the machine with the same blue marking on it. This is for the cold water supply. To prevent colors running in the washing machine it is vital that you do not mix the connection of these hoses up.
We next need to look at the water drainage and connecting the drain hose. First find the hose with no connector on it and place it into the drainage hole in the wall. This is often located next to the water supply hoses. This allows the water from the washer to drain away through the pipes. Next is the balancing of the machine. Most are self adjusting and to set it, you need to pull the machine towards you to about thirty degrees and let it go. This will adjust the machine automatically. Make sure you read the manufacturers instructions though beforehand to check.
Lastly we need to sort out the drying aspect of the appliance. You will see a hole in the floor, around three to five inches in diameter which is the vent outlet. This needs to be connected to the vent outlet from the machine. You may need to visit a general hardware store to find the appropriate connector for this. Once you have connected the two you are all set to use your new machine.
With this guide, you can hopefully get your new machine up and running quickly. It should really only take a few minutes and is something you can quite easily do yourself which may actually save you money in installation fees.
